The identification of this Henry Bolton as the son of Henry Bolton of Ballyrea is very likely correct, but here is no conclusive evidence. It is clear that he is part of the family being involved with many land transactions and was a major tenant and subsequent owner of a significant part ot the land holdings of Henry Bolton of Ballyrea. The only difficulty I can see is that the Lives and Witnesses of the various transactions of Henry Bolton of Ballyrea specifically include and clearly identify, William, Elizabeth, John, Philip and finally Mary -- but never Henry. I place him as a son as the best reasonable alternative. The descendents of Henry and his wife Mary (?) starting with his threes sons are William, Henry and John. The second son Henry Bolton (CULLENTRA) married Mary Tackaberry -- the parents of Fossey Bolton (BALLYLUSK) who married Mary Nixon Johnson -- the parents of Fossey Bolton whose son Flossey Bolton was father of Iris H. Bolton married John Whelan -- parents of (Edward) Ned Whelan the present (1998) owner of owner of BALLINAGRAN which adjoins BALLYLUSK. AND Henry Nixon Bolton whose son Henry Fossy Bolton was the father of William Robert Fossey Bolton whose daughter Jennifer Marion Bolton married Adrian James Cardell.
