The material is contained in Family Origins' file J-RICHARDS.rmg edited Dec 18, 2005. It consists of the material in the GPR family tree and the work of Alex Buchanan. All references (except GPR Family Tree) are from Alex Buchanan and/or Christopher Richards' Data Base and have not been checked by me (BNE) -------------------------------------------------------- GP Richards Family Tree reads: "Pedigree of the families of Richards an extract from a Parlementry [Parliamentary] Report for the year 1662 [states] that the following Persons came to Ireland: Andrew Richards ob. Humphry Richards ob. John Richards ob 1740 -- Coolstuff family see will of 1740. ['ob 1740 etc.' obviously added at a later date] Solomon Richards Solomon Richards father to John of Raheen otherwise Solsboro. He was the head of that family ob 1749 Intestate. Captain Thomas Richards had a grant of Land in the Queens Co and must be the father of Thos. of Rathaspeek Co. Wexford. And Widow Richards, wife of Major Solomon Richards Killed in Wexford (1649-50)." Regards the GPR family Tree the name of this first Richards in this line "John" is only a guess -- but likely. Consider the comment above: "John ob 1740 - Coolstuff family. Ascribing "John" to this position is likely correct. Coolstuff is located east of Wexford near Ballymitty.
The Richards Family Tree (The GPR Family Tree) was very likely prepared by George Pickering Richards in 1858. It exists in two nearly identical versions. Copies or perhaps the originals (both initialled in pencil GPR as a signature) likely belonged.
