Jonathon Goddard did not leave a will. Admon was granted to Abigail Richards 1 June 1675 to administer the goods of Jonothan Goddard MD of St Hellens Parish, London dec'd. (PCC, A.A. Book 1675, f70) Quoted by R.W.K.Goddard in "Fragmentia genealogica Vol 7." He was Physician to the army and treated Oliver Cromwell when he was depressed. He went to Ireland in 1649/50. OUP Published 21 March 1996. 1638 MB Christ's College, Cambridge 1643 MD St Catherine's Hall 1651-1660 Warden of Merton College, Oxford. Went to Magdalen Hall (later Hertford College) in 1632 when he was 15. Essay by W.S.C.Copemen ends: "As he died unmarried and left "noe will, his curious library of books, well and richly bound", which he intended for the Royal Society, passed with an iron chest containing 1000 guineas and 300 braod pieces, to his heir-at-law, his sister's son, who was a scholar at Caius College, Cambridge." This was John Richards, the second son of Col Solomon Richards.
