His date of birth is a guesstimate. In the 1672 Hearth Tax list there is a Robert Atkinson with 3 hearths in Gildersome and another Robert with 3 Hearths in Rothwell. A Robert Atkinson son of Robert Atkinson was bapt 6 April 1656 at Rothwell son of Robert Atkinson of Oulton (Rothwell PRs) Is this him? No more likely the one in Guildersome.
