John's will was dated Nov 20 1802. There was a codicil to his will (dated Dec 4 1810) the day before John died which left the greater part of his estates to his nephew William Glascott of Pilltown . This effectively disinherited his heir-at-law and nephew John This meant that his estates were split between the sons of his brothers Francis and George since his own son had died as an infant and there was no other issue. The family genealogist John Henry Glascott wrote: "John Glascott of Aldertown eldest son and heir baptized at Whitechurch Jan 24 1731, JP Wexford, died without issue 5 Dec 1810, will dated 20 Nov 1802 and codicil 4 Dec 1810, disinherited his nephew and heir-at-law, bequeathed Aldertown and the greater part of his estates to a branch of the name residing at Pilltown Co Wexford" Another source has a birthdate of Jan 1732 and baptism of Jan 24 1732 Still another source (online for LDS) has the birthdate as 1726 and the marriage as 1750.
